Muscat: If you are looking for a small break from summer heatwaves within the Sultanate of Oman, there are quite a few options with lower temperatures.
According to Oman Meteorology, Jabal Shams recorded low temperatures of 16.5°C, Ras al Hadd 24°C, Salalah 24.5°C, Dhalkut 21.8°C, Al Ashkhara 23.1°C, Taqah 25.4°C, and Masirah 24°C in the past 24 hours.
It may be noted that just like the Dhofar Governorate during khareef, the small island of Masirah is another potential summer or a year-round tourism destination.
Masirah Island is unique for the wind during the summer months, which makes its climate similar to that of Dhofar, and sometimes even better.
While temperatures are pleasant during January-March, there is no wind, and it is the same as that in Muscat.
The windy months make the island suitable for kiteboarding, kitesurfing competitions, and jet skiing
For which people come here not just from the Sultanate but also from the region.
Other attractions of the Island include the natural springs and the sanctuary for black turtles that are different from the green ones of Ras al Jinz.
